I have lost my Ki Focus on Avatar, must finish next champions book.
Thank you guys for playing, it was a blast.
Here's how things fell out "off-screen"
Events would lead your characters ever north-ward, to the land where the Laotians come from. You would find out how they got there disgusting powers, by "selling their soul to the devil"
You would run into Jan-Sun Bor-Un, an NPC of incredible age. He had almost died 300 years ago,
but his soul had been decanted into a vehicle by the Tinker Avatar. So he still lived on,
almost like a dreadnaut from 4OK. He would know the way to sneak into the Laotion capital city of Yem. And he would die to bring you this knowledge.
Three things would assail you in Yem: Ghosts, Snow-men, and Death-Benders. One of the snow men would actually be an evil Dragon, rather the ghost of one possessing an ice sculpture shaped like a dragon.
Narrowly defeating him leads to his "hoard" in which are bona-fide D&D style magic items.
the likes of Which you bender types had never really seen and could hardly comprehend.
Tracking down the source of these perversions of the spiritiual order leads to an enclave of aliens just on the far side of the world. There you would find a coven of Mercane, who had gotten lost spell-jamming, and found the bizarre Avatar sphere.
They decided to make a go of it here, and bring there way of life to this place.
They found the lesser cultures (Laotians, Malay, Filipino, etc that live in the other hemisphere) who didn't have the bending arts were more than willing to sell anything: gold, daughters, master-work relics, diamonds, etc. to get there hands on items from the Mercane that would duplicate or surpass Bender's abilities.
You would have had to call in some favors, raise a small army, and still call in the Avatar via Bob's forehead to defeat this base.
Even then, after the last Mercane had been killed, and the evil items broken, and the lesser peoples sent home, the horror would not be over yet.
You would find the under-basement, defeat a few guardians, and come across the Trap of the 5 Souls.
Being a type of mobius-pentagram, you'd have to defeat the guardians thereon (diabolic)
and find a few celestials, elementals, and a previous avatar trapped on the five spokes.
To free the Avatar (a missing one from 200 years, when the avatar cycle got "out of orrder")
one of you would have to leap full into the trap to swap places.
Only then could the trapped avatar go back to the astral plane, and really restore balance to the world. You guys would be heroes of legend and song from then on...

Death-Benders ? There is No Such Thing
The party gathers supplies and heads up to mountain village
of Blue Silk, to help with earth-quake.
on the way there, they are jumped by earth-kingdom bandit girls
who imply that there is something wrong with the avatar.
later the PCs are jumped by 3 lava golems.
who were animated by a short foreign death-bender,
who seems to be a Yemite.
sickeningly, the yemite can bend earth and fire at the same time,
but seems to do so via magic items, and has possibly sold his soul to do so.
he unleashed a devastating lava-contacts-water attack that sprayed everyone
with deadly fire shards.
found notebook of yemite mercenary.

Avatar - Airbender
the players visit Taku Institute,
and met the Avatar last week,
but this week she tricks them
with an invite, to a "date" which
turns out to be a bending duel.
she wins, but the Boulder did actually
score an Intimidate on her.
Vash gave the Ninja Scroll to the Knowledge Foxes.
Chang learned more about his medical dog.
a servant comes to lead the players to a village up the road
that is suffering a plague after a recent earth0quake,
the players stock up on supplies and healing herbs
(they were at Taku, after all) to help the survivors.

Even the Avatar Can Botch a Bending Skill Check
AVATAR: THE LAST AIRBENDER
LEAGUE OF EXTRAORDINARY BENDERS
Our heroes cleaned up the mess at Cape Cod castle, and reported their finds to Lord Kunemura, since it was his vassal who had fallen prey to the neko-mata spirit.
From the monk at the nearby temple, they gathered that gross dishonor somehow leads to extreme bad karma, which invites bad visitations from the spirit worlds.
Chang had recovered a mecha-dog from the wreckage of the castle, (his Flunky activating in BESM) and had found a mystic scroll in it, possibly a deed? and found that it had a "Ki Wheel" which was drained of power. He fixed all the mechanical bits he could find on it,
but it still did not activate, even though he had restored it completely. Apparently it needed energy from Air and Earth bending to come alive.
Escaping all the red tape, girl trouble, and unwanted attentions, the group goes up the road to Gai-Pan Town, renowned for its military heritage, mercenaries, and martial history. They are looking for an air-bender, and can't find one, since the trade route, where Air Nomads visit, goes on the west coast, near Earth-Port.
The court jester (of the duke of Gai-pan) latches onto the PC party, and follows them all over the city, crafting stories based on their exploits. She deems them dull, and barely worthy of her time. Most nobles have such
excellent fodder, and these "good guys" generate no buzz whatsoever. Boring!
They find no air-bender, and no leads on adventures, so they decided to carry the report (with Karon the Water-Bender) to the Avatar, since she isjust up the road at Taku Institute.
After meeting a rogue (ignored) on the road, they escaped a stampede of komodo-rhinos, and cruised on into Taku.
The town has been restored since the wars, and the gardens refertilized, and an academy of herbalism established. In a large but simply decorated manor is where the Avatar Ren-Zoni resides. The PCs are given a room, and they gather all their thoughts on paper, and get cleaned up for an appointment with her tomorrow.
The meeting goes well enough, and Ren-zoni looks deep into all their minds, as she is quite insightful, as well as being an energy bender (who looks into minds).
They analyze what they have seen, and she adds that such spiritual incidents seem to be on the rise. What the party needs is direction, a "senior project" if you will. What the Avatar needs is a another set of eyes, and a homing signal for her astral projection.
As it comes about, Chang has the most receptive mind for such things, and she crafts a gold and jade ring for him to wear. And she energy bends his mind just a touch, and from now on, he stands out as a beacon for her in the spiritual realm.
If they run into a matter that the avatar needs to interven upon, they can call her, and she can quickly travel through the spirit realm to their location.
Chang gives the herbs they found on adventure one to the Avatar, a rich gift. He asks her to look at the ki wheel. It is an artifact from 1400 years ago, crafted by that avatar (Trung-Trong). She doesn't know how to activate it, but she calls up a previous avatar, but gets the wrong one. She accidentally calls up ARIN-JAYA the Warlord of Ice, and he wreaks a little havoc before he settles down to answer their questions.
He tells them that the spirit realm is vast, and there's little limits on the uncleanness, but those who are clean are limited. But he does empower the ki wheel, earth-bending and air-bending simultaneously onto the gear.
He leaves, and the current Avatar wakes up, and all the furnishings are damaged by ice and cold.

Last Fire-Bender
The team investigates a haunted castle and finds a cat-spirit abusing the peasants in a nearby village. "Cape Cod" or Tara Mura.
Murder of the local baron had left the villagers susceptible to a feline visitation, that terrorized the peasants.

The Historian won't say Anything Dishonorable.
LXB
The team investigated the "earth-bending" bandits, and found some soldiers who served a nearby daimyo. They had been victims of similar bandits, but there story was confusing and shamefilled. Still, the team visited the daimyo, and his chamberlain asked them to discreetly find the family Daisho, and return it dicreetly, no questions asked.
In their blundering, they found an abandoned ninja school underneath the castle, and it was infested with little peasants, an they had duped the 2nd son of the daimyo into the theft.
Regrettably all had to be killed, and the family historian, a mute, helped concoct a plausible story for the daimyo.
