I have been permanently tossed off RPG.NET forums.
This strangely pleases me. They had a thread entitled
"How can we Improve RPG.Net"
I suggested reigning in the liberals and progressives.
It is wrong to allow those groups to shout down all others.
In a D&D world, one where gunpowder and steamworks also exist, the previous balance is upset. Normally Psi & Magery used to exist despite each, and their effects whizzed right past each other.
When times change, and guns are invented, and steam-cannons tear down mystic force fields,
Now a triune disharmony unfolds, a rock-scissors-paper balancing, if you will.
Psychics can now pinpoint and disrupt magical effects with relative ease, yet they find that the price of this is that mystic metals, such as cold iron, mithril, adamant, etc can shield and even proof targets against their mental abilities.
Sorcerors can easily upset the apple carts of those who rely on their guns, steamjacks, and other war-engines. However, psychics can pick apart their magic with facility.
Metal Dampens Psionics:
Every plus of a carried metal item, such as a +2 mithril sheild, or a +3 cold iron longsword,
counts as one-and-a-half plusses to add to the saving throws (if allowed) versus psychic effects launched at the target. And if no psychic save is permitted, still half the plusses carried counts as psychic resistance for the target.
So, Jamal the Fighter has a +2 cold iron hauberk, and a +2 mithril longsword. His +1 steel crossbow bolts do not count since they are mundane metal. Jamal gets +6 on his Will save versus Psionic Charm.
When Jamal gets hit by Psychometabolic Hammer, he has no save, but counts as having power resist 12.
If a power allows both save and resist, he only gets the save.
Psionics Pierce Magic:
Dispel Magic etc. do not affect psychic powers unless activated via a metal focus, such as a staff of cold iron, or a mithril wand. This will at a minimum triple the cost of the item. Psychic defenses count as 150% versus magic, so if a psychic manifest Empty Mind, he gets +2 versus pychic attack, but +3 versus magic charm, for example. If a target gains power resistance from a magical source, a manifester is +2 on his level check. Power Resistance also provide Magic Resistance of 2/3rds value. so PR31 = SR20.
Magic Divides Metallurgy:
Dispel Magic can sabotage the working of Gunpowder, Dweonetics, Computers, Robots, etc.
Magic Resistance can shed off powers such as lightning guns, stun guns, concussion grenades that come from a techno weapon.
Bottom left Circle is the Deck of the Grey UFO. the Ice walls are above and below. Greys with Blasters are everywhere, even in little wall niches. VillainSneak-Thief is off camera to left. Villain Death-Grip is at Top of Frame, covered with the Rainbow Sloth Entangle. Doctor Decibel and Thagar are trying the main door. Cataclysm is sneaking in the window. Kamun Rider, Tesla and his follower Sonora are making sure Death-Grip is down for the count.
Off to the left is the City of the Elokians
River with dock on the top.

inside the foyer, Sonora (left) has entangled Lumiere (right)
with her 7 giant ground sloths, rainbow colored.
By the River: Wild Wind clocks Doctor Decibel, Stiltman fights for the Redeemer.
Armageddon punches on Mister Foot the Sasquatch, to act as a
distraction for Quantum Rider, who kicks him around a little. Telsa used teamwork to take down some bad guys.
“How Do I Shot Kraken?” is a popular catchphrase paired with an image of Lady Rogue Trader Armengarde, that is typically used in vox conversations to poke fun at a newbie's behavior.
The original image panel was first published in a 41184 issue of The Koronus Gazetteer, with Armengarde appearing in a promotional page asking for Adeptus feedback on advertisements. There are conflicting reports regarding the birth of “how do I shot Kraken?”, but numerous reference materials point to Ad-Mech forums’s “tech-lords-only” server as the earliest known site of origin. According to firsthand accounts, it was originally quoted during a round of Imperial Selection, wherein the K-Nib enemies’ primary choice of weapon was shooting spider-webs. Out of sheer frustration, a newbie apprentice repeatedly asked “how do i shot Kraken?” in Low Gothic, which presumably meant “How Do I Shoot the Kraken.” The earliest Crew-Tube sighting of the phrase was reported as early as 41203.
This grammatically strange phrase initially spread as an in-joke among Genetor users who frequented the Xeno-Lore section, but reached across the boards on Tech-Heterocity, eventually reaching the Tech-Chan Board, where an image macro of Armengarde saying the phrase spawned hundreds of other pictures containing the phrase.
None. Apparently no Ad-Mech has had the courage or need to bring this to Armengarde's attention, and they, as in-jokes. remain on vox networks where presumably she does not look.
Here's my followup work. I've corrected some of the math from previous ideas, so the 2 proceeding pictures should be considered beta previews. The data is for average baseline units, except the last few rows of specials. This sheet can be quickly copied and modded to make Elites, Low-Tech, or what have you. The book says there are no low-tech Heavy Armor or Titans, but I've seen both Gargants and Wild Wild West, so I'm going to allow them. I'm also taking the suggestion that Anti-Air units (AK-AK) do half damage when forced into regular combat, and expanding that to say that Titans can also screen like AK-AK.
The data is from Battlefleet Koronus by FFG, for their quickie representation of mass combat in 40K style.
Pick one on the RPG net forum, please. I've got some old marines, some beakies, and I can't decide what scheme to have them painted for chapter colors. Of the thousands of chapters, I narrowed it down to these 12.
For my marines I want either a striking look, or a chapter idea that I like. I don't want any of the usual Ultra-Wolves or Raven-Scars run-of-the-mill garbage. I already made up my own Chaos Chapter, so I want to have an existing one for my marines.
Legion of the Damned: the undead marines.
Mentor Legion: the high-tech marines.
Raptor Legion: in their original colors (White Dwarf 101)
Fire Hawks: in their original colors(1st edition)
Death-Watch: love these guys after we played the RPG
Omega Chapter: fan chapter I like.
Vengeance Knights: aka Phoenix Knights. cool fan story bro.
Lupercal Knights: fan chapter, cool colors.
Gold Legion: fan-based "Gold Two"
Mortifactors: ancient chapter since like first edition
Brotherhood of a Thousand: love the name
Rogue Trader Field Police: kickin it old school.
After long preparation for Hordes of the Things, I found out that one of my favorite players of the game has no further desire to hang out with me anymore. I can understand that, but not understand why he couldn't be honest about it, or told me before I did all the work. But I shall look on the bright side, somewhere somehow, people that like HOTT will show up and I'll get to use these new armies somehow.
Also in my D&D campaign I had to sack the whole thing.
I had seven players, and five of them were unable to be polite during the game.
one talks quite a bit about other miniatures games during RPG time.
one cannot silence his cell phone or stay off of it. Which I could understand if he were a doctor or had a life; but he does not.
one cannot help but contradict me and correct me on the rules.
one cannot show up on time, or stay awake
one cannot quit playing other video games or music during RPG time.
At some juncture a tipping point was reached, and the signal-to-noise ratio grew too lopsided, and I disbanded the weekly game.
But I remain positive. Somehow somewhere there are people who can politely join in a gaming group.
